Darren is a senior at the George Washington University, majoring in Dramatic Literature, and minoring in Theater and Creative Writing.  In addition to writing for theater and acting in various student and department productions, he produces and performs in video, sketch, and improv comedy with receSs and beast.. He makes films with beast.Films, and performs standup comedy in Washington D.C. and New York City.  Darren has studied at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theater under Betsy Stover, Lennon Parham, Charlie Todd, Anthony King, Charlie Sanders, and Shannon O’Neill.  Darren is a co-founder and contributing editor for The Colonialist and Find He-Man, and is an Editor At-Large for Anderbo.  He enjoys Reuben sandwiches and Endurance vitamin water.

The Thriller, professional dirt car racer, rides the #32D car.  Darren recently made it two for two in the World Dirt Racing League Polydome Late Model Series by grabbing his second win in as many nights at Davenport Speedway. He earned $5,000 in outrunning John Kaanta, Ray Guss Jr., Brian Birkhofer and Jimmy Mars at the half-mile fairgrounds oval.  Darren resides in his hometown of Milledgeville, Illinois with his wife, Leslie, and his four kids, Paige, Ciara, Darrick, and Codey.  Check out The Thriller at DarrenMillerRacing.com!

About Darren Miller, Owner, Darren Miller Stables
Darren grew up in Dodge City, Kansas pitching baseball and leading the football team as their quarterback.   His parents were teachers and his dad also coached baseball.  He credits his uncle, a race horse trainer, for his early horse experiences.  He feels that his sports background has direct applications to being a successful competitor, coach and judge in the reining and cowhorse industry.

Darren has trained reining and working cowhorses for over 20 years, showing in futurity events and coaching non pro riders.  He is a six time RMQHA Cowhorse Champion and has served on the Board of Directors and as President for both the Rocky Mountain Reining Horse Association and the Colorado Reined Cowhorse Association.

Darren and Shiny Black Shiner were co-champions at the 2007 CRCA Open Derby event. They won the 2008 Pre Denver Circuit Junior Reining Championship, earning 38 AQHA points. He is newly elected 2008 president of the Colorado Reined Cowhorse Association.

In 2006, Darren placed third in the NRCHA World Show Open Two Rein finals riding Pep In My Step. He won the preliminaries of the Open Hackamore class riding Dez She Wiggle. At the Reno NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity show, Darren tied to win the high score in the reined work division of the futurity riding Shiny Black Shiner. He placed 4th in the Open Hackamore finals riding Dez She Wiggle. He has been a top 25 Money Earner in the NRCHA and enjoys giving clinics to reining and cowhorse enthusiasts who want to improve their skills.

In 2005 Darren was the Sagebrush Slide NRHA Intermediate Open Derby Champion riding Dig N Dust Em Out owned by John & Gayle Pniak. Darren was also a 2005 AQHA World Show Junior Cowhorse finalist riding Melinda Horn’s Heza Nuther Digger. In the previous year, the pair also won the South Dakota Open Derby, the CRCA Open Hackamore and NRCHA North Central Region Open Hackamore year-end titles and were reserve champions in the Sandhills RCHA Open Derby.  Darren also won the Sandhills Slide stallion stakes futurity riding a mare that he raised, Dez She Wiggle.

Photo of Darren W. MillerMr. Miller’s background is comprised of more than 17 years of progressive technical and business experience. His knowledge and methodologies have developed through years of fundamental network communications work. His experience culminates in a rich set of credentials for his concentration in information security.  Initially a C/C++ programmer for UNIX platforms, Mr. Miller developed applications for the telecommunications industry based on Sun Microsystems Solaris and other UNIX variants.  His natural ability to comprehend the multifaceted concepts of network communications allowed him to expand into complex network infrastructure projects.  Over the next five years Mr. Miller began to specialize in heterogeneous network integration with emphasis on data integrity and access security, or what is now known as ‘information security’.

Prior to the initial influx of firewall technology, Mr. Miller and close associates were designing and implementing cutting edge packet filters, proxy servers, and other network security product solutions.  Mr. Miller was an early adopter and beta tester for Check Point Systems original security products.  He has installed numerous perimeter defense systems, designing some of the most sophisticated strategies and methodologies for networks ranging from 20,000 systems and greater.  These services have been requested by various organizations including the healthcare, technical, financial, government and educational industries.

Mr. Miller has years of hands on experience developing methodologies and solutions for performing external and internal network vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.  Having directly performed many network security assessments and leading teams of security professionals, Mr. Miller routinely delivers the greatest level of report and remediation detail in the industry.  Mr. Miller has most recently worked on security assessments for financial institutions, bio-med / healthcare organizations, and government agencies.  He has been featured in news publications regarding wireless and network security and guest speaker on talk radio devoted to technology.
Mr. Miller’s extensive experience and responsive personality enables him to guide clients to best-practice configurations and procedures designed for their environment.

Mr. Miller lives in Plantation, FL.  Plantation is a beautiful city with palm trees and canals and is approximately 15 minutes North of Fort Lauderdale and just over 35 minutes North West of Miami. He travels frequently to the North East (Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., New Jersey, and New York) as well as the west coast, on projects.

He also serves clients in Plantation, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Boca Raton Florida.

Darren Milleer (b. 1973) is an MFA candidate at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University, and received a BFA from Alfred University in 1995.  Miller has worked as a program director of Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts in New York, and exhibited photographs at galleries and arts centers throughout upstate New York and in Boston.  He taught high school photography workshopts through the New York State Council on the Arts Artist-In-Residence program from 1995-2002, and led adult education classes in Blue Mountain Lake, NY from 2001-2004.  He currently teaches digital and traditional photography courses at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.  His photo cannot be posted here because it costs too much money to use.

Daren earned the right to use the CFA designation in 1999 after passing all three CFA examinations in three consecutive years, then the shortest time possible to complete the CFA Program. As a practitioner, Daren built new investment products covering Europe and Asia for the asset management division of Zurich Financial Services. Prior to that, he advised on strategic issues related to British pension schemes for Lane, Clark & Peacock, an actuarial consultancy.

Daren served as Senior Risk Analyst for the New Brunswick Investment Management Corporation, one of Canada’s largest public service pension funds, where he designed asset allocation strategies and risk management techniques for its C$6 billion investment portfolio.
